Master Naturalist Volunteer Trainingmnv

This class is presented and taught by both the Welty Environmental Center and Beloit College.

Classes will take place every Thursday evening from 6-8:30pm, with two mandatory all-day field trips on Saturdays May 23 and June 13.  Unless otherwise noted all classes will take place at the Welty Environmental Center and will involve as much outdoor time as possible.

The $250 course involves 40 hours of training in natural history, interpretation and conservation stewardship.   Limited scholarships are available.

All materials and instruction are provided in the registration fee.

Once trained, a Wisconsin Master Naturalist provides volunteer service in one of three areas:  education/interpretation, stewardship, or citizen science.

To maintain certification, volunteers must complete 40 hours of service each year, in addition to eight hours of advanced training.
