Backyard Wildlife Habitat Program 3/2/19 @ Welty Environmental Center

Backyard Wildlife Habitat Program

Rock County Conservationists will host a representative of the Natural Land Institute (NLI) sharing information about how this land conservation organization has been preserving and protecting natural land in the Stateline area for more than 60 years.  Their presentation describes what threatens environmental sustainability now and in the future and how the NLI’s Conservation@Home program is recognizing homeowners for their efforts in creating native habitat which adds to the larger complex of natural spaces throughout urban and rural areas.

This free presentation will include information about creating natural habitat around your home that is beneficial for wildlife. A variety of native plants in an area creates a rich diversity of life that is healthy for organisms to thrive. Learn why you should create a healthy ecosystem in your own yard and get tips on how to do this.

After the program, the RCC will hold its annual business meeting and all are welcome to stay and learn more about the organization.
