Connecting People with Nature; 20 Years of Welty Environmental Center (Society for Learning Unlimited Talk)

For the last 20 years, Welty has been a center for environmental education in the Stateline Area, as well as a steward of natural areas in Beckmann Mill County Park and Big Hill Park.  Executive Director, Brenda Plakans, will discuss the history of Welty’s founding, its current activities and partnerships, as well as take a longer look at how Welty–and its namesake J. Carl Welty–fit into the region’s rich tradition of ecological awareness.
Call at 608-312-2048 or e-mail slu@beloit.edu for further information about SLU, and to request a complimentary catalog of upcoming programs. Each semester, membership costs $6.00, and each two-hour program that you choose to attend costs an additional $6.00.
