Nature At The Confluence: Stream Study, Macroinvertebrate Collection and ID

Saturday, September 9th, 9 am – 12 pm

Stream Study, Macroinvertebrate Collection and ID

Welty Environmental Center is pleased to present this program for Nature At The Confluence’s Stream Team Initiative.

Free program
Adult program

NATC Stream Teams will be collecting baseline data multiple times over the summer at Turtle and Kelly Creeks–come once or several times to discover what the data will tell us about health of these waterways.

At this workshop we will compare the data we collect today to that from earlier in the summer.

We will revisit our leaf packs to see if different larva and organisms inhabit them. How does three months of sun, rain, wind, and human activity affect stream health?

What conclusions can we draw about the Rock River basin based on our findings? First-time stream monitors are welcome!

Bring waders or boots if you have them, waders will also be provided for use.
