Owls with Hoo’s Woods 1.21.23

Owls with Hoo’s Woods

Owls are some of the most beautiful, fascinating and elusive birds in the world. Snowy owls are the largest owl in North American and breed in the arctic. On occasion, snowy owls can be sighted during the winter months in Wisconsin. During education program participants will meet, Wesley, our education snowy owl and two other owl guests. Participants will learn about their natural history, breeding, habitat and behaviors.

Then stay after Hoo’s Woods presentation to discover what owls eat by dissecting an owl’s pellet. We will end the night with dark hike where we will listen for owl sounds in Big Hill Park. We might just hear one.

Here is what to expect at the event:

  • 3:00 p.m. Hoo’s Woods Arctic Owls program
  • 4:00 pm. Owl Pellet Dissection Lab
  • 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Owl Hike

Please note: 1) No pets, including service animals 2) Limited Photographing 3) No tripods 4) No Video

Your registration fee pays for Hoo’s Woods program fees and an owl pellet. The hike is free. Donations are also accepted and appreciated at the event.
