Join us for the third talk of our Big Hill Prairie Lecture series to learn more about the ecosystems that are supported by the City of Beloit’s largest city park. Thanks to a generous grant from the Alliant Energy Foundation, we are able to offer these talks to the public free of charge.
This presentation will cover what you need to know to attract bluebirds to your yard/area. Bluebirds typically prefer rural settings, county or state parks, golf courses, etc. Learn nest box requirements, monitoring boxes, specific habitat type and methods that will help you attract bluebirds or other cavity nesters. Also problems you may encounter along the way.
Patrick Ready has been interested in birds for most of his life. He has been monitoring bluebird boxes since the late 90s. In 2004 he became the editor of the “Wisconsin Bluebird”, newsletter for the Bluebird Restoration Association of WI (BRAW). For the past 3 years he has been the President of BRAW as well. Pat lives in Madison and manages 6 bluebird trails in Dane Co.
