Just how rare is a total solar eclipse? Well, the last time a total solar eclipse occurred in the Lower 48 was 1979–38 years ago. The next time a total solar eclipse will traverse from coast to coast will be in 2045.
Join Welty on August 21st to watch as the moon passes in front of the sun.
We will begin by making and decorating our own solar eclipse viewing boxes and then will use special protective glasses to view the sun during the eclipse.
Donations are welcome and will go towards future Welty programs.
