Welty Kids at NATC: Fireflies 7.19.19 @ Nature At the Confluence

Welty Kids at NATC: Fireflies 7.19.19

Fireflies are fun for the entire family.

These luminescent beetles are members of the family Lampyridae. They are reported to be most active in the Wisconsin between July 1 and August 26th and Illinois between May 8th and October 5th, so we are sure to see a few.

Come out to the Nature at the Confluence to learn more about these amazing insects. We will read a story, learning about behavior, life cycle, and why they glow. Then we will try to catch and observe a few on a nature hike.

Advance signup has passed, but it you are still interested in attending, please call the office 608-363-6212.
