Maple Sugar Mania
Enjoy an afternoon in the sugar grove learning about how maple syrup is made – from the tree to the table.
This hands-on session will look at the biology of maple trees, the history of maple sugaring, and the science and art of cooking sap into syrup.
Of course, participants will all get to sample the real maple syrup!

Weaving A Web – Dreamcatcher Workshop
Dreamcatchers have been used by several native cultures in the area.
We will learn the lore behind the dreamcatcher, then make one to take home.
All materials will be provided, but if you want something special in yours please feel free to bring it along.
This project requires intermediate skills.

Orienteering 101
Could you find your way in the woods even if the GPS in your phone was not working?
This program will take you through the basics of finding your way when lost in a hands-on way.
We will learn how to use a compass, then as a challenge create an orienteering course and follow one.
This program will take place at Big Hill Park. This program is designed for scouts, but all interested participants are welcome.

Leafing Out – Trees Naturalist Badge
How can you tell a deciduous from a coniferous tree? How many different types of oak trees grow in the area? Find out this and more as you explore the forest.
Practice everything from tree identification to eating a tree and everything in between at this program.
We’ll be outdoors for most of this hands-on program, so dress accordingly.
Be ready to be an arborist by the time we’re done!

Come learn the science behind forecasting the weather.
At this session participants will learn to read the sky, make tools to predict coming weather, and learn how to stay safe during extreme weather conditions.
The difference between climate and weather will be examined as well.
Be ready to be outdoors for this meteorological experience as we will be observing weather with our new instruments and information!
Cost of this program includes all materials.
Registration is limited to 30 participants per session.
