Gourd with a Pine Needle Rim
Instructor: Jan Knutson
In this class we will create a pine needle border stitched around the rim of a gourd to complement its natural shape and color.
First we will enhance the gourd bowl with a wax polish rub and then stitch long-leaf pine needles around the rim for a stunning accent.
Instructor will provide a gourd bowl cut, cleaned and pre-drilled, long-leaf pine needles, and a tapestry needle with waxed linen or sinew for stitching.
There will also be provided a variety of “found objects” and small beads to further accent your gourd rim.
