Groundhog’s Eve Family Celebration
Tomorrow is Groundhog’s Day! Will there be 6 more weeks of winter, or just a month and a half? We’ll find out soon!
Today stop by the cabin in Big Hill Park anytime between 10am and 2pm to make decorations, do a scavenger hunt, and enjoy holiday treats! Bring the whole family to clear out the cabin fever!
Cost: $5/individual, $15/family max. Welty members are FREE!

Candlelight Hike – Ski – Snowshoe
Enjoy a romantic evening in the park by candlelight. The Rock County Parks Department will be bringing snowshoes for use that evening, and you are welcome to bring your own snowshoes, cross country skis or other equipment appropriate for the weather.
We will have a campfire with make-your-own s’mores and hot dogs available. Other refreshments include chili – both a meat and vegetarian version, homemade cookies, and hot chocolate. Bring your sweetheart, friends, the whole family, or just yourself and enjoy a beautiful night in the woods. The event will only be cancelled if there is high winds. Please call ahead if the conditions look iffy.

Scrap Metal Drive
Bring all the old metal items you find while spring cleaning.
Volunteers will unload your car, truck or trailer and recycle your metal. Accepted items include:
- wire
- fencing
- grills
- bicycles
- barrels
- appliances and more.
Your donation of scrap metal be recycled to make new, useful items and keep thousands of pounds of materials out of the landfill. Also, money raised will fund environmental education programs in the Stateline area.
